FFSL has been very active in its various regions assisting victims of the tragedy which happened on 26 December 2004. Among the efforts so far done are the setting up of a relief centre and the donation of equipment, including footballs as well as household equipment.

A
tiny Island, Sri Lanka located in an Indian Ocean in
the South Asian Region. Having an approximate extent
of 65610 square Kilometres.This beautiful country has
a population of 18 Million with a majority being Singhalese
counting 75%. Balance 25% includes Tamils (10%), Muslims
(5%), Burgher (5%) and others (5%).The people led a
peaceful life for 4 decades since independence from
British in 1948 and experienced a civil war in the last
two decades where the minority population of Tamils
seeking separate state of their own in North and Eastern
provinces. Due to this unfortunate war the people specially
children in the said provinces had to be kept away in
active sports. But thanks to both Schools football association
in hands with FFSL and the Development Projects undertaken
by FIFA these children along with other children in
whole of the country has been benefited to be trained
to unearth their hidden talents. This presentation is
to enlighten your honoured audience that how we as a
organized Youth Development Department under FFSL is
going to execute our task in school going and youth
in playing parks being trained.
