FFSL has been very active in its various regions assisting victims of the tragedy which happened on 26 December 2004. Among the efforts so far done are the setting up of a relief centre and the donation of equipment, including footballs as well as household equipment.

U15 INTER SCHOOL GIRLS SOCCER TOURNAMENT– 2007 Conducted by FFSL in association with Sri Lanka Schools Association

The final round of the schools girls under 15 tournament was held in CR&FC Grounds for 3 days. There were over 70 schools participated in the preliminary round and the 16  regional champions qualified to play in the final round

The chief guest was Mrs.  Rukmani Gunaratne   Principal of Visaka Vidyala who is a great promoter of Women football in Sri Lanka. The Chairman of Women Mrs.Olivia  Gamage ,CEO -Mr.Chrysantha Perera ,Director Youth Mr.  RUU Mahindapala all participated at the opening and closing ceremonies.

The tournament was conducted by the Youth Development Division with the coordination of women’s football committee of Sri Lanka.

The Champions were BIBILA MADAGAME MAHA VIDYALAYA  
and the runner up was POTUBOWA  NATIONAL SCHOOL –Kurunegala.
