On the 1st Phase
we received a grant of US$. 400,000. With the introduction
of the 2nd phase of this project, we are glad to record
that we were the first out of the 204 National Associations
of FIFA to receive the approval for a grant of US.$
400,000 from the 2nd phase of this goal project.
These funds were allocated mainly for the Baddegana
Project. Mr. Urs Zenatti the head of the Goal Management
Team on his visit to Sri Lanka inspected and assessed
the operations of the Baddegana Project and was very
satisfied and appreciated our efforts in improving and
developing our infrastructure. He strongly recommended
to FIFA Goal Bureau that we truly deserve these funds
which was supported by Mr. Manilal Fernando the FIFA
Development Officer (Colombo) thus this grant was approved.
