Sri Lanka to host Women's Tournament
18 October 2004

The Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FSSL) will be organizing a Women's Football Tournament in Colombo from the 5-7 November 2004. The tournament is likely to see the involvement of 12 to 14 teams, including last years champions Sri Lanka Army Team.

Although Sri Lanka has not been active with women's football at the international scene, this is the fourth edition of such a tournament domestically. However, this is set to change. We hope to scout for good players and call them to form the National Women's team, said a spokesperson for the FSSL.
