FIFA World Cup 2006 Qualifier
Sri Lanka Vs Turkmenistan Points shared
Sri Lanka and Turkmenistan battled out a 2-2 draw in Colombo in an Asian Zone Group 8 World Cup qualifier.
The visiting side held a 1-0 advantage at the interval courtesy of Davlet Bayramov's 20th minute strike but soon after the restart Sri Lanka snatched the ascendancy.
Isuru Perera levelled the score on 47 minutes before W. Rathnayake gave the home crowd more cause to cheer with the go-ahead goal in the 57th minute.
However, Sri Lanka's hopes of securing a first win in the group was dashed on 70 minutes with Artem Nazarov equalising to ensure the points were shared.
Turkmenistan is second in the group on seven points from five games while Sri Lanka has drawn twice and lost three.
