FFSL has been very active in its various regions assisting victims of the tragedy which happened on 26 December 2004. Among the efforts so far done are the setting up of a relief centre and the donation of equipment, including footballs as well as household equipment.
LIONS -YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IN GALLE
The Youth Development Director Mr. RMU Mahindapala , AFC Coaching Instructor Sumith Walpola and FIFA Referees Instructor Mr.Mushin Ariff conducted a Youth Football development Program in Hikkaduwa .The program is an initiative of Mr. Thilina Panditharatne Our Vice President and the President of Lions Club- Galle and the Governor Mr.Paddy Withana graced the occasion as the chief guest. DIG Gamini Randeni our President was the guest of honor where over 250 youth participated for the football training program. For the first time there were over 50 school girls too participated in this awareness program.
