FFSL has been very active in its various regions assisting victims of the tragedy which happened on 26 December 2004. Among the efforts so far done are the setting up of a relief centre and the donation of equipment, including footballs as well as household equipment.

MALE NEW SAFF CHAMPIONS...BEAT INDIA by 1 - 0 in the dying minutes of the game after missing many scoring chances.It was Males Mukthar Naseer who netted the goal through a beautiful set peiece in front of more than 6000 Male fans who travelled to Sri Lanka with them.
They well deserve this victory as the opponent India could not match the fast spaced Male forwards and it was an unforgetable day for Male football in front of His Excellancy the President of the country Hon.Abdul Gayoom
