FFSL has been very active in its various regions assisting victims of the tragedy which happened on 26 December 2004. Among the efforts so far done are the setting up of a relief centre and the donation of equipment, including footballs as well as household equipment.

SAFF Championship -95 days more........



SAFF CHAMPIONSHIP 2008- COLOMBO /MALE
from 3rd - 14 th June







The world cup of south Asia ,the SAFF championship will be kicked off in Male

with a colourful openinig ceremony on the 3rd June in male International stadium with India taking Nepal and Maldives plying Pakistan .Sri Lanka will meet Afganistan as the second match on the 4th June in Colombo at the Sugathadasa Stadium . The 1995 winners of SAFF games Sri Lanka will give their home crowd amemorable SAFF championship as to the manager SSP Clement de Silve with the team undergoing training with the former Korean International player and Coach Jung Jung .The team is scheduled to leave to Thailand later in this month and then proceed to Chineeese Taipe for the AFC Challenge Cup . Sri Lanka is drawn in GRoup B with Afganistan,Butan and Bangladash.

The draws of 15-match event, to held from 3-14 June 2008, were taken out at Bandos Island Resort, Maldives today.

Football Association of Maldives (FAM)'s Interim Committee Chairman, Ahmed Shahir and South Asian Football Federation President Ganesh Thappa were on stage to conduct the draws.

The Group- A matches will be played in National Stadium, Male under FAM, while football federation of sri Lanka (FFSL) will host Group-B clashed in Sugathadha Stadium, Colombo. The final too will be played in Colombo.
