

Holger Obermann , FIFA Instructor is back in Sri lanka for the 5th time since his initial visit soon after Tsunami for the Football for Hope programme. which was launched as a FIFA Initiative. Mr.Oberman is continuing his mission to address post tsunami mental distress recovery process through the wonderful game of football specially for Youth . He is also assisting the development of the game by conducting specialized training programmes and clinics focusing on youth. Since the launch of this Football for hope programme he had trained nearly 1000 school/youth coaches and also have trained over 5000 school girls and boys in all areas effected by the Tsunami calamity including North and East where the war is taking place . Mr.Oberman distributed football equipments for these training under the Football for Hope programme. He also had initiated a project together with the Mr.Jurgan Kleansman the German National Coach for the FIFA world cup and the German National Football Team to construct a GERMAN SRILANKA Football School to be completed by September , 2008 in Tsunami effected town in Matara.
In this years visit Mr.Oberman conducted 3 programs in the capital city of Colombo and 2 programmes in Matara ,160 kms south of Srilanka. There were 25 school goal keepers participated in 3 days specialized programme.
In Colombo.
There were nearly 200 boys and girls under 15 years of age participated in a mini-football festival in Matara conducted with the assistance of Matara Football League for 2 days. 25 trainers were trained for specializing goal keeping programme in a day programme in Matara.
Mr/Oberman also had a inspection of the construction DFB –German –Srilanka Football school project which is to be completed by September .2008.
All these Post Tsunami and Football development programmes had enhanced the corporate value of FIFA, German Football in Sri Lanka.
In Colombo this years programme because of football activities in many kinds followed by 25 youth coaching seminars. This year he dated high attention on coaching young Goalkeepers, age U 16.
In Matara
150 kms South of the Island, Oberman held 3 Seminars, one for boys and girls, one for coaches and one for coaches and one for Administration and One day Goalkeeper Seminar was also included Matara is the place were the German National Player in 2006 after the World Cup donated money for a German-Sri Lankan Youth Center, were socially handicapped young people, but also coaches seminars and Junior National Team take place also for international games and tournaments
In Matara the “Beckenbavet Cup” and Sports equipment was given to the boys tournament winner. The girls received T-Shirts, the Matara Football League received complete new set of yellow Uniform from German Sponsors. All other donations from the German side was given to the Matara Football League. and Life Member of FFSL
