FFSL has been very active in its various regions assisting victims of the tragedy which happened on 26 December 2004. Among the efforts so far done are the setting up of a relief centre and the donation of equipment, including footballs as well as household equipment.

SRI LANKA VS QATAR
2010 FIFA WORLD CUP QUALIFIER


Sri Lanka will face the Asian Games champions Qatar at 16,00 hrs of 21st Sunday ,October 2007 at Sugathadasa Stadium ,Colombo.

The Sri Lanka team is captained by Chatura Maduranghe the gutty mid fielder and the coach former Korean International Jung Jung is confident that the boys will do well to hold the asian champions challenge in front of home crowd.The team had 2 sucessful tours inThailand and one month tyraining in South Korea in preparation for the world cup qualifier and SAFF championship which is now postponed to June 2008.They also faced Malaysia in Colombo winning one and drawing the other.

The second leg ,the away match will be played in Doha on the 27th October.
