FFSL has been very active in its various regions assisting victims of the tragedy which happened on 26 December 2004. Among the efforts so far done are the setting up of a relief centre and the donation of equipment, including footballs as well as household equipment.

FIFA WOMENS COACHING COURSE

FIFA instructor Mr.U.F.Tariq Lutfi will conduct the FIFA womwns coaching course for 30 women football coaches from islandwide to promote and develop women /girls football among schools and clubs in Sri lanka.

The opening ceremony was held at the football house with the patrobnage of Mrs.R.L.Swarnalatha -the Deputy Director Administration of the Ministry of Sports and Youth affairs as the chief guest, Hurley Silveira ,President FFSL as the guest of honour.

The chief guest in her speech stressed the importance of enhancing the coaching knowledge of these trainers to give it back to the young girls whio are talented and to make them to be more technical and tacktical in their application for the game and thereby meet the regional and inetrnational challengs in trhe future.The thankled the ffsl and FIFA for the oppotunity given to sri lanka and congratulate sri lanka football on their good governce.

The CEO of FFSL Mr.Chrysantha Perera expressed his gratitude for the FIFA instuctor Mr.Lutfi for been here , Mr. Mohsen Gilani of FIFA DO office of Colombo for all his good work for the promotion of womens football ,Mrs. Olivia Gamage the chairperson of women foortball who cordinated this seminar and Mr,R,M,U,Mahindapala the Director Youth for his contributions for the development of the game.
