International Friendly Matches Lanka lose to Malaysia 4-1

Sri Lankan soccerites coming out for the first time in the year 2007 against Malaysia on Saturday lost 4 goals to one at Sugathadasa stadium. At half time visitors led 3-0.

Malaysians got ahead in the early stage of the game through a goal from Hadi Jaafar and in few minutes later went further when K. Sahabuddin scored in the 12th minute.

In the last minute of the first session they moved onto strong position through the goal from Azlan Ismail to return to the pavilion with the score board reading 3-0 in favour of the visitors. Zamanian Misbah came in with the forth goal for Malaysia in the 65th minute making them unbeatable. Sri Lanka’s most popular and the best stricker Kasun Jayasuriya scored in the 68th minute to reduce the lead.

That was all the Lankans could achieve in this game and the visitors were happy with their performance.

Lankans take on the visitors today at the same venue. The local team hope to make amends in this game with a better performance.
