But the luck was not with SRi Lanka. The chief Guest was Dato Pter Velappan the secratary Genaral AFC and the guest of honour was Hon.Jeevan  Kumaranatunghe , Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs.

It was Pakistan 55%  - Sri Lanka 45  % ball possision in the first half and both played defensive Football. At the 45th Minute Pakistan was awarded a free kick out side the right side of the penalty Box  and the kick was not collected on air by the Goal keeper and let it go to the striker Samar Ishak who just tap it to the net to score the only goal of the final.. At the end of fitrst half Pakistan led 1 - 0.

Sri Lanka had the controll in the  second half and was attacking right through with no success. Sri lanka had 60% of the ball possesion and it was evident that Pakistan defenders used their built to sustain the speedy strickers Nimal who has scored 4 goals and Nadeeka 3 goals respectvely in th tournament.so it was sad storey for Sri Lanka in front of home crowd and a repeatition of achievement for Pakistan who has won the Gold in last SAG too.
