FFSL has been very active in its various regions assisting victims of the tragedy which happened on 26 December 2004. Among the efforts so far done are the setting up of a relief centre and the donation of equipment, including footballs as well as household equipment.

Aid-27 Seminar Inaugurated at Kuala Lumpur

AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam inaugurated the Aid-27 Financial Assistance Programme seminar here at the AFC House on Friday.

“Twenty-seven national associations are now receiving our financial support for football development through the salary for coaches, especially grassroots and youth coaches,” said Bin Hammam in his opening speech. “This donation is for success.”

“With this seminar we would like to explain to our member associations how to implement this project with much more success,” said the AFC chief.

AFC Grassroots and Youth Development Department Director Thomas Flath, Development Officer Jita Singh and AFC Coach Education Department Director Hassan Al Sabah will be the speakers in the one-day seminar.

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Guam, Iraq, Jordan, DPR Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Macau, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Timor Leste, Vietnam, Yemen and Uzbekistan are eligible for the scheme.
