Cmdr. Ananda Peiris and Sunil Samarathunghe had been promoted as Rear Admiral on Sri Lanka Navy.  Rear Admiral Ananda Peiris is a product of Dharmapala and Ananda College, Colombo.

He is excellent in Football, Hockey and Athletics.  He played for Sri Lanka Schools Football Team too.  He represented Navy and Defence services soccer team and had tours Pakistan.  He was an Ex-Co member of Sri Lanka Football Association.

Rear Admiral Samarathunghe was also at Dharmapala Vidyalaya and excellent in Cricket and Football.  He later played for SARA Trophy for Peradeniya University Team.
