FFSL has been very active in its various regions assisting victims of the tragedy which happened on 26 December 2004. Among the efforts so far done are the setting up of a relief centre and the donation of equipment, including footballs as well as household equipment.

AFC UNDER 14 FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

The above Football Festival was held from 5th to 11th April at Dhaka, Bangladesh. A number of countries of the Central South Asia Region participated at this festival which included Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tagikistan, Turkmenistan and Usbekistan. The Sri Lankan squad of 20 players and 3 officials were in Bangladesh to attend this festival.
